Traffic and weather together...in Belgium
Here in Brugge (or Bruges), Belgium, bikes and cars (and horse-and- carriages, and trucks, and pedestrians) share the road.
You really do have to pay attention to following the rules of the road here--it's meant to be a pedestrian-friendly and bike-friendly city because of its unique status as a historic center. Massive numbers of tourists flood the city center each day, so parking is at a premium. You are wise to leave the car at home and enjoy the city on foot or by bike.
